Thespians Convention
11-23-09
Our thespians troupe, Troupe 6151, performed remarkably well at this year's Texas Thespians Convention in Corpus Chritsti. We were one of the five schools there out of about a hundred and fifty to receive the honor of being named an All-Star Troupe. This award was given based off of our troupe's display board, put together by our officers, which showed our scrapbook, our productions from this fall season, our community service projects, and our spin on this year's Thespian Convention theme: "Theatre is..."
We competed in all but one of the eight individual events this year. Katie Maddox competed in Monologue; Gina Hughes and Albert Rubio competed in Duet Acting; Brooke Bowman, Josh Popa, and Noah Reece competed in Group Acting; Storm Lineberger competed in Solo Musical; Sarah Brown and Wesley Hooper competed in Duet Musical; Storm Lineberger, Sarah Naumann, Albert Rubio, Drew Stier, Wesley Hooper, Noah Reece, and Amanda Tutor competed in Group Musical; and Jake Lozano competed in Solo Mime. We made it to finals in Duet Acting and Duet Musical, and Albert and Gina advanced to represent our school on the mainstage (in front of the entire convention) with their duet scene. We qualified to compete in Nationals in Monologue, Duet Acting, Group Acting, Solo Musical, Duet Musical, and Group Musical.
Our techies also performed well. We took first place in Make-Up, and placed third in the Texas Techie Relay.

About Updates
8-11-09
The primary purpose of the homepage will be to display updates like this one. They will be about any current or upcoming events such as auditions, service projects, fund raisers, trips, and additions to the site. There may even be articles such as take-aways from recent meetings. The newest updates will always appear at the top. That way, a person can make a quick check of the homepage to see if anything new is happening.
As more and more updates are posted, old ones will eventually be placed in an archive on the site. The link to the archives will be placed at the bottom of the homepage.
As for the other features of this page, The menu on the left is a constant on the site for easy navigation to the main pages. On this homepage, the righthand sidebar gives quick links to the shows and will display the show posters as they become available. Right below the menu on the left, you will notice a small box that will pop up with an alert whenever there is an upcoming meeting for the theatre club, theatre council, or even booster club.
